The Art of Soccer campaign is an exciting initiative aimed at rallying community support and raising funds in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be hosted right here in Houston. As a proud supporter of this global event, the Texas Medical Center has joined the effort to help build excitement and bring the city together through creativity and sport.
As part of our involvement, TMC Helix Park has proudly received nearly ten vibrant, 36-inch fiberglass soccer balls. These sculptures are now displayed outside the TMC3 Collaborative Building, where they serve not only as symbols of unity and athletic excellence but also as a celebration of Houston’s diverse culture and artistic spirit.
This initiative is more than just decoration; it is a meaningful way to connect our community through art, celebrate the upcoming World Cup, and show the world that Houston is ready to welcome the world’s game in 2026.
The Art of Soccer campaign began in 2019 when TMC originally commissioned three custom soccer balls as part of Houston’s initial bid to host the FIFA World Cup. Since then, the campaign has expanded citywide with dozens of oversized soccer balls painted by local artists, schools, and community groups, transforming them into public canvases that reflect Houston’s rich heritage and global outlook.

TMC Helix Park invites artists to be part of our rotating art collection. We are looking to temporarily showcase work that reflects creativity, curiosity, and connection through sculpture, installation, photography, or other original mediums.
